Over at the Women’s TRANS National website they have the full line up of who won and lost yesterday at Tennessee National. Calle Nielson, Cheyenne Woods and others made it through the first round of match play. Calle Nielson stayed on the top of the leaderboard at Tennessee National Golf Club finishing yesterday’s second round of qualifying with a 71 and total 137 in the Womens TRANS National Campionships. Yesterday’s field was cut to 64 after a 7 person playoff for the final 5 spots. Match play started today at 8am. Position 1 1 T2 Calle Nielson shot an opening round 66 to lead the first round of qualifying for the TRANS National Championships. Nielson, a Nashville native, now plays for the Universityof Virginia where she is a sophomore and has already built up an impressive resume. Click here to listen live! Tom Watson, in what could have been the greatest British Open victory in years, lost in a four hole playoff to Stewart Cink in the final round of the British Open. Over at golf.com they have all the details: Duane Galbrath, Cheyenne Woods, Linda & Shan Trotter (pictured below) were victorious over 25 other teams in Saturday’s TRANS National Co-Am shooting a 54. Runner’s up were Robin Banner, Diane Dunn, Bryana Gregory & Taylor Karle, three back at 57. Cheyenne Woods, niece of Tiger Woods, along with 119 other women amateur golfers from around the world will be teeing it up at Tennessee National this weekend for the 79th Womens Trans National Golf Championships.
