Shark Shootout

Are you looking for an excuse to escape the cold weather of December to enjoy some great golf and support a wonderful charity while you are at it? December 9-13, 2009 is the 21st Shark Shootout at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, FL. The Shootout is Southwest Florida’s only sanctioned PGA Tour event. Combining shamble, best ball, modified alternate shot, better ball, and scramble the event is sure to make an exciting tournament.  Just a few of the professionals slated to play include: Greg Norman, Zach Johnson, Fred Couples, Boo Weekly, Nick Price, Mark Calcavecchia and Fred Frunk.

Throughout the Shootouts 20 plus year existance it has benefited CureSearch with supports the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) the worlds premier pediatric cancer research collaborative. The COG represents every pediatric cancer program in North America, treating more than 90% of children with cancer at more than 200 leading children’s hospitals.

On Saturday, December 12th there will be a 5k race hosted by the Shark Shootout and benefiting CureSearch. So even if you’re not a golfer you can still get involved!
