Practice your swing indoorsEast Tennessee has had some very cold weather over the past week or so, which has closed the golf course for a few days. I know we still have people out there who want to work on their golf game during this cold weather. You can work on your game without leaving the comfort of your home or garage. Here is a golf practice tip from our golf membership manager, Robert Stevenson. You can practice your golf swing in your home or garage (just look out for fans, sprinkler heads, etc. before you swing!). You will be surprised by what you may notice when you take time to just focus on your swing, with no golf ball involved. Make your swing in slow motion and focus on how the body works together to make the swing happen. Go slow…make it last 20 seconds or longer. You will be able to notice the lack of erratic movements and unnecessary motions. Now is a great time to work on the positioning of your weight, your balance, and your flexibility. Remember to keep the weight on the balls of your feet, not your heels. When you notice an irregularity or erratic movement in your swing, start over. When the weather warms up and you can get back on the practice tee you will notice a difference in your balance and your swing will be more fluid. |
