I'm not sure if going after the grooves is the right thing. The grooves rule will put a premium on hitting fairways because pros can spin the ball the same out of the fairway. As an amateur you can still play the other wedges until 2024 so it will be a while before this rule effects the masses.

Other than Greg Norman, my favorite modern day designer is Rees Jones. One course in particular that I've enjoyed is Burnt Pine at Sandestin. Alister Mackenzie and Donald Ross are my favorite old school designers. What they created using mostly the lay of the land they were provided is amazing!

My favorite designer is of course Greg Norman. Greg has done an incredible job at Sharks Tooth, Medalist Golf Club and of course Tennessee National. They all have the same feel of natural lay of the land and not much dirt moved. Alister MacKenzie is probably my favorite old school designer, his courses are timeless. Some of the best designs in the world you will ever see, hands down!

I try to play golf once a week if I'm lucky, because I don't like to play in the cold. But if you dress for the weather it's not too bad.

It would have been awesome to see Duval win but I don't know if we every will. This and last years Open were as good of chances as he may ever get. Kudos to him for sticking with the game after all these years.

On a side note, Dustin Johnson may be working his way into the category of the best 20 something golfer on the PGA Tour. Many of the other guys have bigger names but it seems like Johnson is gaining more and more confidence and is looking to have a break out year.

My dream foursome would always include my family and friends, but that would be the easy way out. My non family dream foursome would be Jack Nickelson, Frank Sinatra and Clint Eastwood. Can you imagine the great stories that group would have!

My favorite club in my 9 iron. Growing up I didn't have a wedge and had to learn how to use the 9 iron for all shots inside 125 yards. Back then you learned how much to choke up on the club to change the distance with a full swing and how much to take off on shorter yardages.
