Tennessee section PGA Tournaments

The Tennessee section of the PGA has a full calendar of events starting in April. The first big event is on April 5th, the Pro-Assistant Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin. Tennessee National’s own Director of Golf, Adam Foegen and assistant David Vannier will be playing in the tournament!

April 12th-August 16th is the TPGA Assistant Match Play Championship. That’s right April-August. This touranment has a little bit different format than we are used to seeing. The Tennessee section is divided into two regions, the east and the west and assistants in each region have until May 17th to play the first round another 4 weeks to play the second round and another 4 weeks to play the third round. The finals will be August 16th at Hermitage Golf Course, Presidents Reserve Course.

Question of the week: Rules

Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of talk about the new grooves rule. While the rule only applys to professional golfers I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks of the new rule. Do you have a Ping Eye 2 that you play with? Will you continue to play with it? What are your thoughts on the new rule?

All-American Junior Golf Tour Winners!

We had a great weekend of golf at Tennessee National! Both members and the players from the All-American Junior Golf Tour were able to enjoy the wonderful East Tennessee weather.

Local standout Austin Kramer came in first for the Boys High School division shooting 143, followed by Warren Cheney (146) and Braden Galyon (150). Madison Caldwell shot a 166 to come in first for the Girls High School Division followed by Blakesly Warren (175). In the Boys -6th-8th Grade Division Scott Stevens claimed 1st shooting 157, Tucker Snipes came in 2nd shooting 162 and Ashton Hunter came in 3rd with 164. The final Division, Boys 3rd-5th Grade, Bryson Morrell shot 164 to come in first and Matt Mays came in second shooting 167.

Congratulations to all the winners, we really enjoyed hosting this tournament it was a wonderful start to our 2010 tournament schedule!

Tennessee National hosting All-American Junior Golf Tour this weekend

Tennessee National is honored to be hosting the All-American Junior Golf Tour this Saturday and Sunday. Junior golfers from all over the country will be playing at Tennessee National this weekend. The tour is designed for male and female golfers from 3rd grade to Seniors in high school.

Two tournaments this week!

The WGC-Accenture Match Play Tournament was the one that a lot of people thought Tiger would make a return for, however that seems to not be the case. There is still a great field of players, even with the Mayacoba Golf Classic also being played this week. Weekend tournament wrap-up

Dustin Johnson is now a two time winner of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, sealing the victory with a birdie on #18. David Duval posted all four rounds under 70 and was tied for second with J.B. Holmes at -15.
