]]> East Tennessee has had the more rain over the past six months than I have seen in the three years I have lived here. Rain and golf do not go well together. Tennessee National’s Ladies Club Championship has been postponed twice due to rain. Rain wreaks havoc on our bunkers and results in “cart path only” and “90 degree rule days”, most people do not enjoy these cart path rules when they are golfing.  Luckily East Tennessee offers a variety of things to do to enjoy the great outdoors, rain or shine!

There has been a drought in East Tennessee for the past few years, so the rain has been much needed. The leaves will stay on the trees longer because of the rain, making our already beautiful Fall last even longer. If you haven’t been to East Tennessee in the Fall I highly recommend it. There are miles of trails to hike throughout East Tennessee and Great Smoky Mountain National Park, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Or you can take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or Cherohala Skyway to see the Fall foliage. Even driving down Tennessee National Drive you get a great view of the Fall colors! With Tennessee National’s excellent location, our residents are lucky to be able to enjoy all that East Tennessee has to offer, whether it’s just out their back door or a few miles down the road.
