The 94th Tennessee State Amateur starts today at The Honors Course in Chattanooga. It will be the third time that the State Amateur is played at The Honors Course. Defending champion and University of Tennessee Chattanooga senior  Derek Rende will be defending his title against the states best players. He will also have to contend with Tim Jackson, who tied for 11th at last weeks U.S. Senior Open at Crooked Stick. Coincidently, both courses were designed by Pete Dye. I wonder if that will give Jackson a bit of an edge in the state amateur. What do you think?
