What does Tennessee National have in common with Doonbeg Golf Club in Ireland? Other than the same golf course designer, Greg Norman? Stacked sod bunkers. While generally seen at golf courses in Ireland, Scotland and England, stacked sod bunkers are making more and more appearances at US golf courses. Tennessee National is the only golf course in East Tennessee with these dramatic (and some will say challenging) bunkers. At Tennessee National Greg Norman used an amazing combination of stacked sod bunkers, dramatic fairways, lakes & the Tennessee River to create an extraordinary golf course.
